Jack Whittaker is the Principal Legal Counsel and founder of Whittaker Corporate Services, a boutique advisory firm delivering in-house style legal, company secretarial, governance, risk, and compliance support to organisations across Australia. With more than 30 years of private practice and in-house experience, Jack has built a reputation as a commercially focused adviser who bridges the gap between legal precision and business outcomes.

His expertise spans corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, construction, property and leasing, risk and compliance, and board governance. He is highly regarded for his ability to manage complex transactions, streamline governance structures, and provide practical, concise legal advice that enables leaders to make confident decisions.

Jack’s career has seen him hold senior roles as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary for some of Australia’s largest retail organisations, as well as leading the legal function at not-for-profits and private enterprises. Known as a strong listener and collaborator, he is trusted by boards, executives, and business owners to deliver solutions that balance compliance, risk, and growth.

Through Whittaker Corporate Services, Jack offers clients flexible engagement models—from single matter to half, full day or multi day engagements. Engagements may include;

• a number of matters delivered by a half or full day engagement

• larger transactions requiring engagement over several weeks, one or more days per week

• ongoing board or committee management requiring one day per month for the medium or long term.
